The Insulting and Patronizing Nature of Modern Politics: A.K.A. Wake up People
by Dan Hedges
The political process itself is in need of a serious overhaul; the signs are obvious. That being said, I also want to offer some positive suggestions, instead of just indulging in a buffet of negativity.
The current political system is no less than alienating, insulting, and patronizing to so-called ordinary citizens. I will evoke the Canadian example although I strongly suggest that what I am about to spout about, is also applicable to other modern realities.
Politicians are masters of the game itself; mostly well meaning folks who perpetuate the 'order of things'. However, in Canada, we are getting all to used to HELLISH scenario in which our so-called leaders publicly attack each other with their partisan poles; while we look on, at what sometimes just appears more like a Tom and Jerry episode that encaptures the ethos of immaturity itself. Furthermore, numerous scandals in recent years at the Federal level have seriously injured the reputation of Politics itself, in this country.
Politics is intentionally boring, and the ruling elites have an invested interested in keeping it so BORING. Why? Companies, corporations, and money-makers, have a lot to gain by keeping the SPOTLIGHT on celebrities, and product brands; if the spotlight ever shifted to politics, planning for the future would eclipse immediate gratification as the modern mantra. That kind of shift from shallow to meaningful would be devestating to corporate interest itself.
WE most certainly are waiting for something real and exciting to occur in the political arena. We are STARVING for our politicians just to present authentic personalities, and talk about 'ISSUES' instead of feeding the cycle of partisan bashing; which in its purest form is just stoking a fire of negativity.
The kind loving lightness of wisdom must soon descend upon our metaphorical kingdom; a wisdom which obviously needs to contain values of living in balance with Earth, and manifest the massive importance of kindness into all strands of society. Excessive greed will otherwise cause our demise. The sanctity of life itself is at stake; in ALL OF THIS.
I hope that the politicians can realize the urgency of the situation; and hereby unleash a passionate dragon.
Modern politics in Canada simply insults modern intelligence. Our politicians have some serious catching up to do; I am also positive that there a factor of Generational Lagging, that accounts for the sad situation. Wake up PLEASE; and get with the times. Sweet Mother of Pearl.
The childish, partisan-focused behaviour as of late in Canadian politics is pathetic; it certainly is an embarrasment to the common intelligence and integrity of humans, and life itself, in this imagined Nation.
